Greetings!  I’m Mike Wilson.  After over 30 years as a CFO and Controller, I decided to help others sell their businesses at the right time in their lives by becoming a business broker.  In my nearly ten years of experience doing that I have found that most business owners have no realistic idea of what their business is worth!  So I thought I’d try to help. 

Background and Experience

After receiving my CPA from the University of Illinois, I didn’t follow a traditional career path of going into a career in public accounting doing auditing and taxes and those kinds of things.  Too boring!

Instead, I started working as a Controller and eventually a CFO in a series of small to medium sized businesses.  All were owner-operator businesses, and many were family owned.  Their revenues ranged anywhere from $10,000,000 to $50,000,000 and usually employed 20 to 200 people. 

Industries that I helped were all over the map….from a fast food restaurant franchise to a heavy construction equipment manufacturer to a hotel/motel operator to building components manufacturer to wholesaler of packaging products.  It didn’t matter the industry…80% of what I needed to know to help my clients was the same across the board.  It was just a matter of quickly learning the other 20% that made that business unique. 

It was fun.  I enjoyed it.  And luckily, I was good at it. 

What Can I Do For You?

After years of number crunching profit and loss statements, it was an easy transition for me to perform valuations for businesses. Today, I have nearly ten years of experience helping people value their business, sell their business, an purchase businesses.
